Seattle Is For Lovers

The average person spends 30 percent of their life alone.

Of course, during this quarter of our life we go through stages of scoffing at those in love. We make fun of our friends that can’t go out on Friday night, overeat because no one is there to judge us, and make it well known on Facebook how much more fun it is to be single! However, other times we pine after this ideal relationship. We wonder what their story is, how they found each other, and when all of our terrible dates will end…

Now I’m not going to give you answers to these questions. But I will tell you that when it comes, and it will come, that there are so many, many things to do when you have a partner in crime. Here’s a list of my favorite things to do in Seattle with my boyfriend:

1.       SAM Visits – Every first Thursday of the month, all art galleries in Seattle are free!
2.       Brunch delight – There are thousands of places to eat in this city. Best breakfast spots are Glo’s, Portage Bay Café, 5 Point Café, CJ’s Eatery
3.       Ferry Ride  – Take the ferry (it’s cheap like $7 roundtrip) and go bike riding around Bainbridge island
4.       Cannon Beach – Spend a weekend and drive down to Cannon Beach (3.5 hour drive) no matter the time of year, it’s fun
5.       Sky High!  - In Bellevue, this trampoline world has a nightly dodge ball game which is super fun
6.       Market Shopping  - Go to pike place and buy your groceries for the week; there’s a bunch of random
foreign food you can try, be adventurous
7.       SIFF – The Seattle International Film Festival presents weekly foreign films from all over the world
8.       Hikes – So many good hikes in the PNW (try Tiger Mountain, Discovery Park, Rattle Snake Mtn, Cougar Mtn, Point Defiance Park, Mount Si, Annette Lake, Mount Rainer)
9.       Soul Night – Gotta do a good ol’ fashion soul night at Chop Suey or Havana on Cap Hill
10.   Library Run – The Seattle Public Library has been noted as the best library in the country. With 8 stories, it’s a must-do for everyone
11. The Great Wheel - Little cliche, but still worth the 13 bucks
